9:30 to 11:30 am has been reported to be the best time to enjoy a coffee. Many often enjoy their first cup shortly after rising or just as they enter their workplace. There is currently no scientific evidence to support this as fact but there have been reports that coffee taken between mid to late morning provides the most benefits.

One factor that contributes to the effect is the early Cortisol levels, which enhance alertness and focus. The hormone reaches higher levels around 30 to 45 minutes after rising and slowly declines throughout the rest of the day. For this reason, many workers boost themselves by drinking coffee to combat the gradual decline. This has the potential to boost productivity when you need it most as the working day progresses.

Next time you are entering the office, try a glass of water instead and enjoy a coffee later in the morning.
